More money than sense

So Albert Pujols, St. Louis Caridnals something-or-other, is by all accounts a great guy.  Marfried a woman who has a special-needs kid and is a great dad and husband.  And a Christian.  That's nice!  I'm a Christian.

Mr. Pujols has a ton of money.  Makes more showing up for a Cardinals game than I do in three years.  That's nice!  He's got a lot and I've got enough.

Here's the dicey part.  Mr. Pujols decides to help out a Christian Contemporary Music Radio Company by giving them a ton of money - $350,000, I believe - to help them buy the 99.1 FM station in Saint Louis.  The station that's been providing classical music, Broadway musicals and probably most importantly, sponsoring all kinds of programs, series and competitions.

The point of the above programs, etc., being to encourage folks of all ages to enjoy the fine arts.  Yeah, kids, too.

What the current owner of the station - a church body - intends to do is give the station away to the Christian Contemporary Music Radio owners so that they can play wave-to-Jesus music and the preachings of luminaries like ....

.... oh, enough of the snarking.  I just hope the CCMRC uses the $350k productively, and I hope that's NOT to buy 99.1 FM.

Citizens have filed 4 petitions with the FCC asking to disallow the planned sale.  That's the hopeful part.
